On Sunday, September 29th Coney Island Prep High School's cross country team had their first race in Prospect Park. The race consisted of running five kilometers (3.14 miles) around the park and getting the fastest time throughout.

The competition was planned by the organization Music That Heals, which is a group that works to brings professional music to ill children and adults. It was established in 1997 and has reached over 150,000 people in their mission. Please see their website: musicthatheals.org for more information. 

The runner's for Sunday's race was Anne Hyacinthe, Najee Jenkins, Idowu Bello, and Joey Herrera and teh team's advisor; Mr. Hank Brand. Anne and Najee both clocked in approximately 41 minutes after the race began, While Joey and Idowu both finished at 35 minutes and Mr. Brand completed it in roughly 21 minutes, 

When asked how they were feeling after the race all the team members had unique answers.
"I'm think I'm gonna die, and I really want a honey bun right now." said Anne, who was sweating buckets and gulping water down. 

"I'm feeling good. I'm tired, my side hurts and I want water, I want a cookie, and I want this cramp on my side to stop hurting." said Najee.
